TabSlip TABSLIP

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026
In short TabSlip is designed to keep your saved content on your device. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or send your data to our servers.

1. What is TabSlip?

TabSlip is a browser extension that lets you quickly save content you find while browsing the web so you can access it later.

You can use TabSlip to save selected text, links, notes, prompts, images, and other content supported by the extension.

2. Information TabSlip stores

When you choose to save something using TabSlip, the extension may store information associated with that item, including:

  • The content you explicitly choose to save (text, links, notes, prompts, and screenshots you capture).
  • The URL of the page where the content was saved.
  • The title of the webpage.
  • The date and time the item was saved.
  • Your item's completion or done status.

TabSlip only saves webpage content when you explicitly perform an action to save it.

3. Where your data is stored

TabSlip uses Chrome's local storage system (chrome.storage.local) to store your slips.

Your saved content remains stored locally in your browser and is not automatically uploaded to any remote server.

4. Data sharing

TabSlip does not sell, rent, or share your saved content with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.

TabSlip does not use your saved content for advertising or personalized advertising.

To show a small website icon next to each saved item, TabSlip requests that site's favicon from Google's public favicon service (www.google.com/s2/favicons). This request includes only the website's domain name (for example, example.com), never the full page address or the content you saved. Google's handling of these requests is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Analytics and tracking

TabSlip does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers to monitor your browsing activity.

TabSlip does not maintain a server-side profile of your browsing activity.

6. Permissions

TabSlip requests browser permissions only when they are necessary to provide its functionality.

  • Storage: Used to save your slips locally in your browser.
  • Context menus: Used to provide an option to slip selected content through the browser's right-click menu.
  • Unlimited storage: Lets screenshots you capture be saved locally without hitting the browser's default storage limit.
  • Scripting: Used to load TabSlip's own on-page tools into a tab that was open before the extension was installed or updated.
  • Webpage access: Lets TabSlip detect the Shift Shift shortcut, show its capture tools on pages, and take a screenshot of the visible page when you start a region or full-page capture. Keystrokes are only checked for TabSlip shortcuts and are never recorded or stored. Page content is only read when you choose to save it.

7. Children's privacy

TabSlip is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to TabSlip or its privacy practices.
